Green rhyme

We shared a really small flat while living in The Netherlands, which was in need of a renovation.

While deciding the colors for the kitchen wall, she started singing the nursery rhyme “Ten green bottles were hanging from the wall…”, and so it was. The kitchen became acid green with written the first line of the song. It was so pretty and we were so proud of it!

For the living room she fell in love with a white carpet with big flowers. I tried to dissuade her, since we had little money at the time, but she was so adamant it would cheer up the room that we ended up buying it. It looked so pretty! I miss my cheerful, creative friend, she was the best person to have around!
